Does Garfield County Recycle? Of course we do! Garfield County currently operates a recycling transfer station for easy community access and in fact have just updated our facilities for EASY ACCESS!! The following items are collected at the station:
- Aluminum and Tin Cans: Drain liquids before recycling. Food and drink cans only. Please rinse and remove labels. Lids and bottoms can be left on.
- Newspaper: No wet paper
- Cardboard: USA cardboard only! Two-ply brown cardboard with wavy center. (Overseas cardboard will have a gray or green tint.)
- Mixed Paper: All paper, magazines, books, junk mail and telephone books.
- Glass Jars and Bottles: All glass – brown, green and clear is acceptable. Drain fluids, rinse and discard lids.
- Clear and Brown Glass: Please drain liquids and rinse before recycling.
Please make sure that recyclables are inside the transfer bins. Items found on the ground are considered litter and are thereby subject to fines. The bins are on the side of the County Road Department which is located at 19th and Arlington St. Please call the office at (509) 843-1301 if you have any questions or concerns.
