Youth Prevention
- SAM Club
The Student Awareness Movement (SAM) club organized at the Pomeroy High School that promotes healthy lifestyles through awareness. Besides being actively involved in school activities the club has participated in community activities such as:
- Susan G. Komen Walk
- National Night Out
- Red Ribbon Week
- TATU
Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU) is a chapter of the Pomeroy High School SAM Club that teaches teens how to present information to younger kids on the dangers of tobacco use. The TATU program is supported by the American Lung Association, to learn more you can click here to go to their website.

Initiative 901/Smoking in Public Places
Initiative 901 which is formerly known as the Washington Clean Indoor Air Act became effective December 8th, 2005. This law prohibits smoking in most public places.
