As a public servant, together with my staff we will insure that all property owners are treated fairly and impartially in accordance with our state laws, in a responsible, and courteous manner.
The primary duty of the assessor's office is to identify and determine the value of all taxable real and personal property, for the purpose of equitable distribution of tax liabilities of each property owner within their tax district.
The Assessor is required by law to value property at 100% of market value and to assure that all values are equitable, fair and uniform to all property owners in Garfield County. Properties in Garfield County are revalued every year with a physical inspection every 6 years.
2015 Real Property valuation notices were mailed 6/4/15
If you wish to appeal the new value of your property, you must file a petition with the Garfield County Board of Equalization (BOE) no later that July 1, of the assessment year or within 30 days from the mailing date on the front of the official Property valuation notice, whichever is later.
